nix on PDA

Okay, I have a compaq ipaq 3600 (also know as the SA1100) It won't sync with windows, since I want to get pocket pc 2002 back on there. so I tried to sync it with linux. I really don't know what to do. I have it connected via usb. I have the familiar linux build from handhelds.org and they really haven't helped me out with their "tech support." So I need someone here to help me out how to restore my pda, either doing so in windows or fedora (my build on my desktop pc)

Thanks a lot!!!

The iPaq 3600 usually runs Windows CE dosn't it?

Unix on a iPaq usually installs to the RAM or to a flash card.

You can clean everything up by doing a hard reset, then you can use activesync in windows or synCE in linux to connect. From there you can retrace your steps.

it runs on pocketpc 2002. and I tried a hard reset, even detatching the memory node from the device for 24 hours. Also tried turning it off (hard reset) for another 24 hours. the windows bootloader is completly removed.

OK - you're basically stuffed:

Installing Linux or reinstalling PocketPC can sometimes render the iPAQ unbootable (a brick).

Compaq Research will restore the iPAQ to a usable state, but this will take at least a week, including travel time.
... find the Compaq/hp factory shop near you (your retailer will know where it is) and give them the iPaq.
