mandrake on laptop versus desktop
Hi,
I was just wondering about something. I recently obtained a Dell Inspiron 5150 and I installed Mandrake 10.0 Official on it. Everything works fine (I guess all the threads start like this ;-)) except the power control APM or ACPI.
Okay I don't have a problem with that, the only thing I have to do is to recompile the kernel, or put a new version on it and from there I enable this feature.
Although I have noticed something strange about this.
When I installed Mandrake 10.0 Official on 2 other desktops (same CD's, same programs, totally identical installation except the devices) I found out that the APM was installed on those and actually could work (if they had a battery ;-))
So what is now my 1 milion dollar question, why is it installed on desktops and not on a laptop if the last one actually needs it.
thanks
klaas
