linux help with laptop..


i have an old laptop a toshiba satellite 205cds (i know its old) but i just want to play around with it ,as some of you know ,you cant boot from the cd on this model ,im wondering is there a version of linux on floppys that i could install ...

Without knowing the particular hardware specs on the laptop I might suggest slackware.
You can boot using a floppy disk.

Floppy boot works with Debian also.

Booting from floppy disks and installing using the network

I'll give you a real answer how 'bout? Here is a floppy boot disk image that enables you to boot from CD even if your computer isn't able. http://bootcd.narod.ru/bcdl150z.zip
