I get

Code:
iwl3495 000:03:00.0: Direct firmware load failed with error -12
iwl3495 000:03:00.0: Falling back to user helper
iwl3495 000:03:00.0: Could not read microcode: -12
iwl3495 000:03:00.0: firmware: failed to load iwlwifi-3945-2.ucde (-2)
BUT!!! All of a sudden, the Thinkpad T60p runs stable with the latest Debian-LXDE-variant, as proposed by kilgoretrout 10 days ago or so. Formerly, it always froze after the login screen. I can even watch videos with it or write texts in LibreOffice. I swear that I have changed nothing since my last posting. This is one of the most mysterious things that ever happened to me. Has the Thinkpad cured itself???

What should I now? Try to install the latest Lubuntu again?

Thank you all, greetings from Germany!

EDIT:
I suppose the dmesg errors come from the WiFi-driver that I have not installed. I have used a network cable.

Hi...

If Debian works and you like it, I would stick with it.

Sometimes, different distributions don't play the same with a given piece of hardware, sometimes for reasons that are difficult to understand.
