I have problem installing redhat linux. I try to install RHEL 4 and got a problem when partitioning my linux drive. I'm using dell inspiron 1100 and currently running windows xp, i have another 7G of free disk space that i want to install linux, but when i try to do automatic partition, i select "use all free space", but when i click ok, there is an error box said that:
"could not allocate requested partition
unsatisfied partition request
new part request -- mountpoint:none uniqueID:11
type:Physical volume(LVM) format:1 badblocks:none
device:none drive:['hdc'] primary:none
size:0 grow:1 maxsize:none
start:none end:none migrate:none origfstype:none"

then, when i click ok, it said that i don't have enough free space in my hard disk for the installation.
After several time try, i still get the same error message, and i decided to create the partition manually. When i try to create the (/) partition, it seem ok, but when i try to create swap partition it give me an error message:
"could not allocate requested partitions:
partitioning failed:could not allocate partitions"

Then, i delete the / partition, and try to create the swap partition first, it seem working. But, when i try to create / partition, the same problem happen again. I already check the disk drive and installation cd, and it seem ok.Anyone have an idea why i cannot install do the installation? thanks...
