Hello and welcome.

I can't suggest a version. Most people try live cd/dvd/usb's until they get both the look and feel and most of the hardware working. We can help you usually to get a single or multiple hardware issue corrected. Find what you like and maybe we can help you get the few items left working.

Keep trying the ones maybe at www.distrowatch.com Any of the top 30 or so ought to be worth trying.

Welcome to the forums!

If you understand your hardware and how Linux drivers work, you can get your wireless working with any distro in about 5-10 minutes.

A quick google shows your laptop probably has Broadcom wireless? Here is how to get the proprietary Broadcom driver working in Ubuntu/Mint: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...Driver/bcm43xx
