ERROR @wl_cfg80211_scan :WLC_SCAN error (-22) mean?
I have a DELL Vostro 3500 setup to boot either Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit or Win XP Pro SP3. After the latest Ubuntu update, Ubuntu comes up with a endless procession of [number 1, number2]ERROR @wl_cfg80211_scan :WLC_SCAN error (-22). If I try booting with previous the earlier "versions" listed in Grup, it comes up with the usual list of options. Using low graphics option didn't let laptop boot. I let it go to the root prompt and found that xorg.conf had been corrupted. I set the root prompt to read/write with the remount command and deleted xorg.conf. No help as problem is apparently with bad WiFi driver. I posted to Ubuntu forums, but only solution posted requires that I have working Ethernet (I don't even use WiFi except when I have to when traveling), but you can't get that dropping to the root prompt.
How do I get my laptop working again on the Ubuntu side? Fortunately all my business-critical files were on the XP side and also backed up externally.
Thank you for reading.
