Dell inspiron 1000 9.3 wont recognize HD (need with doal boot)

hi there,
I have a Dell inspiron 1000, the problem that i am having is that the suse 9.3 wont recognize my HD?
how can i get it to recognize it? and untop of this all i have a Win XP on one partition of the HD and i want to have a dual boot with Linux.
how can i get all this to work together?? without loosing my XP.
Any help will be apriciated.

Found a solution for my Dell Inspiron 1000, took it from suseforums.net

When you boot from the install cd, choose Installation, down below on the CL type in insmod=ide-generic. This will do the trick!
