Fun in the Sun

Hi,
I've been away from LQ for a while!
Just got back from a beautiful vacation in Florida for the last five weeks to rejuvenate and recover from the cold here in the mid-west. We had to cut things short because of the pending ice storms & snow falls that were forecast. Driving in freezing rain & snow is not fun. We missed the storms and got home safely to a cold and snow covered trip. Road crews cleared a great path for us and mother nature accommodated us.
I got to play some great golf courses in Florida. My friend and I got to play 18 holes at Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill course. One beautiful Golf course that was still being groomed for the March 17 Invitational. I left a few divots for Phil to play out of. We also got to play another Arnold designed course, Legends Golf course. That was one tiring course with plateau tees & greens with beaches all over the course. I made a few lands in those damn traps.
Our stays was warm overall with a few days that were cool. This week it is to be in the 80 overall. But we had to leave so we could get home safely. Got a Florida tan. My wife went shopping most the time to get new golf shorts & attire for me. We get home and she states; 'You've got too many clothes'. I said 'It's not my fault you bought so many shirts & shorts'. Go figure!
I have to go out and clean the snow from my walks that the guy who cleaned the drive covered up. Not a chore that I look forward too.
Got home & need to get my LAN & servers back up. Shut everything down while we were away. I did not want any access since my Internet access was limited while in Florida.
These old bones are relaxed & ready for more Golf this spring. My recent back surgery(Last May/2014) has allowed me to start my Golf activities again. I have changed my swing to a 'Single Plane swing' that was made popular by Canadian Moe Norman, the greatest ball striker. On a 'single plane' you are using a lead & lag around your body thus having the club through your swing without change of the angle on impact. You are not changing your spine action like you will with a rotary swing like Tiger Woods. I have Lower Lumbar fusion that prevents me from doing a rotary swing and to the fact that I also have a fusion with cage at L3. It's a wonder just to be able to do the single plane swing that did require changes in my grip & setup. So my swing has been modified a bit to allow me to address the ball without dis-comfort. I slowed my swing but I still get a fair distance when done right. Practice, Practice and more Practice. I will need to use a simulator since it is frozen outside.
Busy work has got to be done around the house to get the list down a bit. My bench work will need to be caught up so I can get the projects completed. I still need to run electric to my new wood shop. Ground is frozen thus digging a ditch even with a trencher is too much for an older man.
I may be a turtle but I will get there eventually! Get back too normal and do the things that I really enjoy.
