please don't make your laptop details as your question title...
I'd suggest you to make it problem specific !

why you think it is a driver issue ?
what error you get when trying to connect ?

I'm not sure to be a driver issue. the person who installed the ubuntu told me that. I joined the program ubuntu, but I can not use the internet, does not recognize any line.

first of all,i'd again suggest you to put your post title a more specific one....
for this, you don't need to put title in every post....rather edit you first post (of this thread)....go advanced and replace its title !

how do you try to connect ?
I think there is no need of drivers....just search for active networks and connect to one available.

Well, be patient. I can not connect my laptop to any wireless network. Now I'm using Microsoft, but I want to use the ubuntun, I need the internet. That is why my friend told me that I must download a driver. How do I fix this?

i thought i was the one being patient here...
all i tried to say was when you question is popped up in forums it is the title of first post that tells people what is the problem but in your case it shows...compact presario CQ 40 505 LA. Need Help
So,it is least likely for someone to come and help you....putting a more specific title attracts specific people with a solution to your issue.
anyway,i don't need any drivers to connect in Linux.I also dual boot with windows,it needs drivers but i didn't required to install any specific drivers for the same in any of Linux distros.

To be able to help you we need more details about the wireless device in your laptop. Open a terminal (you will find that in the menu) and type in the following command:
Code:
lspci
Please post the output here.

Are you sure that is full output? I'd be more interested in few last lines where wireless equipment is mentioned.

I checked at product specs and available drivers. Looks like you have Broadcom 4313 WiFi card. Is it mentioned in lspci output?
