Boot process gets stuck in ubuntu gnome 17.10
Hello Linux community,
I have been facing an issue which I see on the net is quite common, but actually noone has a real solution. My machine has a random behaviour at boot time, in the sense that sometimes the gnome splash screen will freeze and the boot process won't go on. This has benn a problem also in the past, when I had ubuntu 16.10 half a year ago.
Giving more details, when I had 16.04 it started doing this thing more and more frequently, until the moment I was no more able of booting normally. I have then tried many fresh installs, but none of them solved the problem. I started thinking it was my SSD fault. At last I tried the improbable solution of making an ubuntu gnome LVM installation. Incredibly I obtained more results with this approach than ever, and that's still the configuration I have. Since I had 17.04 nothing bothered me, but after the last 17.10 release, the nightmare came back.
I read on the google that it could be some graphical configuration which is giving issues in the boot process. I have tried editing the default/grub conf file, removing quiet splash option, but actually it does not solve the problem. I will now post also the machine specs, and I tell you that I am using nouveau driver (proprietry drivers give me even more troubles). I repeat that the problem DOES NOT pop up at any power on. If you need further details, please ask and i'll post. Thanks for your help!
