Averatec 3200

I've tried freebsd, suse, fedora core, and now debian on this laptop, and I can't get anything working.

The debian install actually is recognizing my video card which is a major plus, so I got it mostly running.

My harddrive won't stop spinning ever though and my gnome seems to have changed settings randomly, which is ok because I can use KDE. KDE has more setting problems though because my fonts in every program are VERY small and almost unreadable if my face isn't against my screen. I tried setting the font for everything to size 20 in the KDE configuration tool, but it didn't make it any larger.

I would be glad to try another distro if anyone has experience with an Averatec 3200, but I really don't want to have to run Windows on it!!! I've tried looking ALL over for tutorials, and the one at ccs.neu.edu/home/gene/averatec-linux.html was somewhat helpful but not enough to solve everything and I didn't understand some of it.

Please help; thanks.

Maybe is too late but FC2 works perfectly with the Averatec 3200. Install that and upgrade to FC3. I haven't tried yet FC4
