ati mobility

under windows on my laptop i can only use the panasonic drivers for the ati mobility vid card.

is there an option under *nix to change that? i run RH9 and have the default drivers for ati mobilty from install, and have updated to the newest kernal for RH9.

the graphics are great in all standard use, but then its not useing any of the 3d rendering. when i try to play NWN(never winter night) i have a bad partical effect on all of the PC/NPC in the game.

the background is crystal clear and smooth, but anything that as an Ai basicaly is fubar.

under winXP it was clean and smooth. i dont know if this is a NWN/*nix issue, or a driver issue.

i would like to know if there are drivers out there i can use/attempt to use without making my system go FUBAR. i do use it to host a small web page and would not want to lose that site.

thank you for your time. if you need more information, please tell me what you need, and how to provide it for you and i shall do my best.

i will attemp that, but under win2k, and winXP when attempting to install from ATI i got an error stating that the ati mobilty is not supported by ATI, and that they have 0, zero, drivers that would work with it.

is that not the case with linux drivers and the ati mobilty chip?
