queries related to ext2/3 blockbitmap

hi,
I am new to ext2/ext3 file system ,, so there is a confusion regarding the understanding of the block-bitmap.
My qyery is does the block-bitmap of the ext2/ext3 filesystem is in little-endian form .. if yes then why ? and if not then why not ?
My second query is if I want to generate a block-bitmap seperately for a remaining ext2/3 file system how I am going to do that? means how I am setting the bits on/off using C and else what the other things I should have to keep in mind .I mean the generated bitmap is same as the original bitmap of the filesystem.
Please reply

Abhishek.

hi ,
I am sorry to reply that the similar threads do not match with my query.
Can somebody please go through it again to help me out ...
My qyery is how I generate a seperat block-bitmap(only) of an entire ext filesystem and to do that how I am going to set the values of bits using C .
Secondly , if the block-bitmap is in endian form then why is it so ?

Thanks with regards
Abhishek
