hi
i am just trying to install debian-lenny on a new hard drive and i am experiencing a big problem.
After the installation when restarting the p.c i get the following error:

Booting the kernel
[ 0.980226]RAMDISK:incomplete write(-28 !=32768)8388608
[ ]crc error
[ ]Kernel panic - not syncinc:VFS :Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)

Ok i googled it, and found simimilar cases but nothing worked for me.
Some say is a hardware problem but i have a working copy of fedora on another har drive and works just fine.
also if necessary i get this messages at the beggining

I won't be able to provide much help I'm afraid but you are not alone. A few days ago a friend of mine got the same problem - I tried to diagnose it and got the same result with Lenny on my machine. More than that - right next day I updated kernel in Etch (Xen virtual machine luckily) - and what do you know - on reboot got the same problem. Looks like an issue in new kernel?

All I can suggest for now - report a bug to Debian.
