WUSB12, sometimes no link light
I'm running Ubuntu 05.04 on an iBook G4 revision 7455, altivec supported.
Alright, I've got a Linksys WUSB12 wireless dongle. The thing works great except for a slight issue. The dongle works fine when the computer has been off and just booted. When I put the dongle into one of the USB ports the power light lights up and the link light blinks a few times, then stays on steady showing it's found a suitable access point. I am then able to use dhclient wlan0 to associate an IP address with the dongle.
However if I put the computer to sleep (yes sleep is working with the Option AGPMode 4 in xorg.conf) and wake it then insert the dongle the link light never comes on. It doesn't even blink. If I sleep the iBook then wake it sometimes the dongle link light comes on. Sometimes I have to sleep/wake/reinsert dongle a few times to get the dongle to search for an access point and sometimes it only works with a fresh reboot.
Any suggestions? I've tried modprobe -r prism2_usb then modprobing the module back into memory and I have tried the same with the USB modules, with no luck. I've tried restarting the hotplug subsystem as well with hotplug restart command.
I'll search the linux usb pages but wanted to at least get a few thoughts from you all here at linuxquestions.
Thanks for your help!
