What is the wireless chipset? Running lspci from a terminal should show that; then post the relevant output here, being sure to surround it with "code" tags, which become available when you click the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom of the quick reply window.
Though I do not see response to this thread for more than 6 months, I would still like to recommend the following:
1. What kernel version/release is used? Also, what Linux/UNIX distribution is referred here?
2. You may like to check the vendor's website for any recent drivers released for this interface.
3. If you compiled it on your own what errors were thrown in? Maybe you have to look closely at those errors and the kernel code to see any potential bugs.
