Smile Why won't my modem work?

Hello everyone, my name is Wyatt August Goettsch, and this would be my first formal post on this web forum. I am new to linux, I just just got fedora last week! My question is concerning my dial up modem, allow me to explain: I just got finished with a fresh install of fedora, then I plug in my old connexant "winmodem". Kudzu runs at startup and detects the modem and configures it with no problems. Then I go to configure my dial-up connection with the internet connection wizard, and it says "no modem detected", but allows me to finish configuring the connection. When I go to activate the connection, it comes up with "error 2". At this point, I head down to linuxant to get a driver for it, I install the driver no problem, and I reconfigure the dial-up connection. It, still doesn't connect, but this time, displaying "error 7". Does anyone know how to fix this?

Well , yeah you can get the drivers, but they most probably dont work . There are hell lot of issues regarding the winmodems configuration in linux.
There are remote chances that your modem will work in linux. Ive been strugling with my winmodem[ pctel hsp 56] for 2 months ,but all in vain.
Better get a hardware modem or a dsl connection. also check this site. http://www.linmodems.org .
