Who made Compaq SCSI controller? Can I get a driver?

Hi Folks,

There's a great price on a 2-channel SCSI controller here at this URL:

http://store.yahoo.com/alan-fm/comdualwidch.html

Only trouble is, I can't find a Linux (RH 7.2 or greater) driver for it on the Compaq/HP site. :-\

So, anyone know if some other outfit made this part for Compaq or if there's a Linux driver for it out there somewhere? (Compaq has extensive support for Linux according to their "certification matrix" and this card is in a lot of the gear that supposedly supports Linux, but, no driver found...)

Thanks,

John

Okay, this page:

http://h18003.www1.hp.com/products/q...10268_div.HTML

says the -291 and the -B21 are the same chipset.

So... this page:

http://www.cpqlinux.com/sym53c876.html

Says they use module: SYM53c8xx

Cheers,

Finegan

Thanks much!

Those specs are at least as helpful as the driver info (since the max X-fer rate is 40MB rather than the 160 that you'd expect from what's in the advertisement).
