Two drivers...

The internet told me that there are two drivers for an 05ca:1839 according to which kernel is used.

http://www.arakhne.org/ricoh/

You can try one of them(r5u87x) by executing the commands listed in this Italian posting.

http://www.intilinux.com/driver/570/...-ubuntu-gutsy/

Note the link.

https://bitbucket.org/ahixon/r5u87x/

https://bitbucket.org/ahixon/r5u87x/...del_matrix.txt

In the posts I have seen regarding this webcam using the r5u87x driver, it is referred to as not working with later versions of the kernel and in general is a problem to get configured. You might try the other driver first. Luck

By the way, color is not necessary for emphasis and green is actually unreadable on the blue background used on LQ.
