video freezes randomly, Winfast 2000 XP & TVTime
I installed a working Winfast 2000XP card in a AMD X2 3800+ box. The TV output is normal, but freezes at apparently random intervals, from ~5 seconds to ~1.5 hours. Audio continues to work, but the video freezes, and blue screens when the channel is changed. I have to rmmod/modprobe cx8800 and tuner to get the card working again.
When the crash occurs, /var/log/syslog starts with:
Jul 16 07:51: xxxxxx kernel: cx88[0]: video y / packed - dma channel status dump
and continues with reams of entries related to cx88{0}: until I kill TVTime.
I found a few Google hits referring to similar crashes & errors, but no answers to the issue.
I tried moving the card to a different slot with no apparent difference.
I am using Slamd64 with kernel 2.6.22.1; the card was in a AMD S754 3000+ box using Slamd64 and worked fine.
Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated,
regards, netcrawl.
