USB interrupt problem

I'm running Fedora Core 2 on my server (old Compaq Proliant 1600) in wich I have a USB PCI adapter plugged in. The USB (UHCI) controller seems te be recognised fine, but when I look in /proc/interrupts, the interrupt counter for the IRQ number doesn't change at all. As far as I can see, there is no IRQ conflict with any other device, and when I hoop up an USB device, nothing happens, the lights on my (eg.) modem don't light up, and there is no according entry in /proc/bus/usb/devices.

Please help !!
