Lightbulb unable to mount a HDD drive with NTFS-3G filesystem via usb

Hi everyone!

I am new here, and also new in Linux. I use debian. I have a 2.5" HDD that debian can't mount now, but yesterday it did it. And on windows I can use this drive. I've been trying to resolve this problem for some ours by forums, but I can't. Can somebody help me?

THis is the output of 'sudo fdisk -l' :
Code:
Disk /dev/sdb: 320.1 GB, 320072933376 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 38913 cylinders, total 625142448 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0xcbdbf314

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdb1 * 64 597517799 298758868 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT
THanks...

Welcome to LinuxQuestions.

What are the error messages when you try to mount the drive.

Uhh... sorry, of course:

"Unable to mount <my_drive_name>!
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 1: helper failed with: " ... and no more

There were more message before I tryed to resolve the problem typing commands in the terminal... In that message there were problems with the ntfs-3g filesystem and a "refuse thing" and user privilege...
Maybe I could resolve some of these problems, but not at all, and now I can see the what is the problem exactly...

You could try to mount it manually to see what the terminal output is:
Code:
mkdir /mnt/disk
sudo mount -t ntfs /dev/sdb1 /mnt/disk
This might give you another error, depending on the condition of the disk, but hopefully it will provide you with better output!

WOW! Thanks a lot! It's fixed! Windows was very very bad boy or just me

Here is the code:
Code:
# mkdir /mnt/disk
# sudo mount -t ntfs /dev/sdb1 /mnt/disk
# The disk contains an unclean file system (0, 0).
# The file system wasn't safely closed on Windows. Fixing.
