Post udev hotplug wrong scsi port

Hi all,

i have a small problem, got FC8 running fine
and i would like to be able to hotplug my s-ata hdd's.

got my ich9r running in ahci mode. and basically the hotplug works fine!

accept that when i detach a hardisk and plug it back in.
udev sees a hdd pluged back in and makes the device /dev/sdc

normaly my hdd's are /dev/sda and /dev/sdb. (both in raid 1)

example, detach sda. (raid 1 brakes up and messages are written in logfile!)
re attach sda -> udev noticed and make the same sda hdd /dev/sdc !?

so how can i make sure that udev uses the /dev/sda again ?!?

also, if i reboot FC8, the hdd comes back as /dev/sda again ?!?

so is this a bug, or what can i do to make udev use the right sdX

Thx

Collen

btw, detaching /dev/sdb gives the same problem, all re attached scsi devices come back as /dev/sdc !!

You can do this with udev
Google for writing udev rules and you'll find lots of examples to help you
