Unhappy Thinkpad 600E + 2.6.0-test6 =sound problem

Thanks in advance...
I'm running RH9 on a TP600E(2646-4BU), the sound chipset is a Crystal SoundFusion 4610/11. Using sndconfig, reports that chipset as not suported, while using --noprobe lets use the cs4232 and works...
But Now I compiled 2.6.0-test6 (really faster kernel) and I can not get sound working; lspci shows :
00:06.0 Multimedia audio controller: Cirrus Logic CS 4610/11 [CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio Accelerator] (rev 01)

but after modprobe ALSA driver cs46xx (shows nothing in console) reports errors in dmesg:
ALSA sound/pci/cs46xx/cs46xx_lib.c:3925: hack for Thinkpad 600E (unsupported) enabled
ALSA sound/pci/cs46xx/cs46xx_lib.c:3151: create - never read codec ready from AC'97
ALSA sound/pci/cs46xx/cs46xx_lib.c:3152: it is not probably bug, try to use CS4236 driver
Sound Fusion CS46xx: probe of 0000:00:06.0 failed with error -5

I tried several drivers cs4231/2/6, but they report the same:
FATAL: Error inserting snd_cs4232 (/lib/modules/2.6.0-test6/kernel/sound/isa/cs423x/snd-cs4232.ko): No such device

I've recompiled the kernel a million times playing with the sound options : ALSA, ALSA+OSS emulation, OSS only, several cards, only sound support + ALSA pakages from ALSA site (per FAQ directions), but everytime got the same error. And modified the modules.conf on each try

Could someone help me about this problem? I don't know what to try next.
Has someone played with this kernel? Because while booting 2.4.20-19.9 sndconfig works, the same as the sound, but with 2.6.0, sndconfig reports the kernel doesn't have modular sound enabled (soundcore.o not found in the search path), but IT IS in lib/modules/<running kernel>. I couldn't find the sndconfig source code in order to take a look at the search path and hack it...
Any ideas where start?
Thanks a lot...
Nelson.

I have generally the same problem, except that I can't even install the driver. I can only run ./configure, but after that, I can't do make or make install.
