Suse 9.1 and USR 5610B Problems

I just got a copy of Suse 9.1 and installed it. Everything works fine except I can't get on the internet. I have a USR 5610B modem, and it works fine in Mandrake 9.1, and windows, I'm using it now. Suse recognizes it for what it is and will even dial up, but won't get on line. Here's the log file for Kinternet:

Can anyone help me figure this out?
BTW, if it helps any, I've noticed that in the boot sequence that ppp0 is set to manual. If that is a problem, then how do I change it?

I used that same modem with suse 8.2. I remember I had to manually edit the the modem configuration in Yast to say /dev/ttys4 because it wasn't an option on the drop down list of devices. Try that & see if it helps.

As it turns out, after I got everything so FUBAR, that I thought that I would have to reinstall to get it working, all I had to do is enable the firewall. Amazingly simple isn't it. But still frustrating.
