While using Juk 2.2.1 for KDE 3.4 on my slackware setup I get repeated skipping during playback, I have tried reconfiguring the control center options for the sound but that only makes it somewhat better. Cause I still at times skip like a second or two of the music, its ogg so couldnt be a support issue where as like if it was mp3. This is on a i686 compiled kernel even though the processor is 64bit, and its a realtek onboard sound card.
Please if anybody knows anything it would be great if someone could possibly assist me with this.

Make sure dma is enabled for the hard drive that stores the audio file. Also increase the buffer size or time in the program. Sometimes turning off artsd improves sound performance but you will have to use the dmix alsa library to do software mixing if want to play multiple audio files at once.
