I have Windows Vista, and I formed a dual boot with Ubuntu Linux and Windows Vista through Wubi.
Well, everything is fine, except my sound...
I've seen these problems before, and the only solutions I've found so far are to buy a new sound card, which I don't want to do at the moment. (And I can't, anyway).
So, is there anything else I could do?
PLEASE NOTE: I don't know ANYTHING about coding in Linux, so please, PLEASE, do not tell me to go into it and code it...
(If you do, though, at least tell me what to do step-by-step..)
Also, I have a Toshiba Satellite, and an Intel card, I guess...(I don't know where to find anything else).
other wise click system ---> preferences ---> hardware see if there is any hardware that needs to be installed. if not. accessories and the icon that looks like a tv. it is a terminal.
open a terminal and type lspci and then push enter. now copy that and post it. here
now that you now know how to open a terminal type alsamixer. that is the guts of everything. make sure your speackers are enabled. that is pcm you should be able to do this through the speaker icon right click it otherwise alsamixer
