Hi, I have been using my laptop for a while and I have no problems with sound.
But.
I decided to reconfigure my fluxbox key file so I can use sound buttons on keyboard.
When I pushed the mute button sound gone off and never went back. This is the command which was executed:
amixer sset Master,0 toggle
And since then - no sound.
Which is weird because it works fine, I mean it gives
Code:
Simple mixer control 'Master',0
Capabilities: pvolume pvolume-joined pswitch pswitch-joined penum
Playback channels: Mono
Limits: Playback 0 - 64
Mono: Playback 45 [70%] [-14.25dB] [on]
and
Code:
Capabilities: pvolume pvolume-joined pswitch pswitch-joined penum
Playback channels: Mono
Limits: Playback 0 - 64
Mono: Playback 43 [67%] [-15.75dB] [off]
After each execution of this command manually.
I turned out (when I logged into default Ubuntu environment) that when I do amixer sset Master toogle then it not only turns off alsamixer but also some kind of ubuntu sound driver.
But it can't turn ubuntu driver back on. What is this mysterious driver and how can I control it without being forced to use graphic interface?
