Sound is barely above normal voice leves...RH9 Q

Running RH9 with a Sound Blaster AudioPCI 16bit card...the card was id by the OS as Vendor: Ensoniq....Model ES1371 (Audio PCI-97)....Module es1371. In the past this has vendor/model has been used with successful...but now the volume is to the max and the sounds are just at normal voice level.

I run a dual-boot and when I'm in windows the music/sounds come blasting right through....should I change the drv in RH9? If so, how...the sound card detection only allows me to hear the test sound...please advise and thanks in advance.
