UT can barely hear music.

In Unreal Tournament the sound effects are perfectt, sound great. However, the music in the background is practically non existant, it's very quiet and of very low quality.

How can i bring the music up to the same level of quality and volume as the effects? The little slider in the in-game options makes no difference.

I'm using a Soundblaster 5.1 digital (alsa emu10k1 drver) on Fedora Core 3.
Thanks for any help

I tried changing my audio device in /usr/local/games/UnrealTournament.ini but none of the settings there seem to affect me. I commented out the renderdevice lines but it still works.

I'm guessing each user has their own copy of unrealtournament.ini somewhere to store their own settings.

Where is that? Can anyone help? Thanks.

Might be a certain channel its controlled by, probably not, but maybe worth a shot, play with the different levels in your mixer of choice. If you got kde, maybe try playing with kmix. I've been planning to install UT soon, I'll do it tomorrow, I've got the exact same soundcard and driver too, so I'll probably run into the same problem. UT uses oss and not alsa right?
