Sound problems using WLAN cardbus, Debian Sid+2.6.8 IBM Thinkpad 390E
I have an IBM Thinkpad 390E, 256K RAM, 6GB hd, Debian Sid, with 2.6.8, 2.6.10 kernels installed.
I have a Buffalo (Melco) ‚ WLI-PCM-L11GP Cardbus adapter, which is very well supported in Linux. I can personally confirm that it works in Knoppix, Mepis, Mandrake 10.1, Debian Sarge (2.4.4 kernel), and Debian Sid, mentioned above.
When I am using the Carbus WLAN adapter, my sound hardware stops working correctly. I have an ESS Solo-1 sound system. When I am using the WLAN card, the audio sounds grindy and staticy, and is unusable. When I am not, it works fine. If I use a generic Realtek chip based Cardbus ethernet adapter to get into the network, it works fine.
Can anyone offer advice on how to configure these devices to work together nicely? (ESS Solo-1 sound hw + WLI-PCM-L11GP Cardbus WLAN adapter) With Googling, I get two Japanese pages.
William (with about 6 months Linux experience)
