I am running RedHat Core 3 within a VMware session on a Dell Dimension 4600 computer running Windows XP Professional. before I loaded RedHat the SoundMax Integrated Digital Sound Card worked well from CD-ROMs and online radio etc. After I installed RedHat Core 3 I cannot get any sound when in Windows XP Professional even though the Properties tell me everything is working okay.
Is there a way to release the sound card from RedHat so I can gain audio in Windows XP Professional?
cheers
Tony
Try installing alsa drivers. if u using an onboard card or a card tat uses ac 97 codecs it should work fine but again you might face problems while installing the alsamixer.
Search on google for alsa drivers
