Question Shared Filesystem over SCSI

Hi,

is there a possibility to build a shared filesystem like GFS, Veritas or OCFS over SCSI ?

Maybe I think about this too simple-hearted but can I just connect an external LVD
Harddisk with 2 SCSI connectors to 2 Linux Boxes each equiped with an Adaptec LVD (eg. 2940 ) Controller via a standard LVD Cable and use this with as Shared Filessytem eg. OCFS ?

I've read that SCSI supports this type of configuration, but will there be a possibility to mount the Disk from both sides at a time.

I'm asking this because I don't have all equipment by my own to give this config a try so I lay my hope somebody else probably thought about this or tried it out before.

any help/comment welcome !

regards
guenter

This multi host adapter setup is usual in Clusters.

For simply sharing files between computers, NFS will be much easier.
This will require a network connection between the computers instead of SCSI.
A hub is not needed if you use a crossover cable.

I never tried it, but there is some linux clustering like beowulf.
