Scanner-Buttons? (Lide30)

Hi people!

I own a Canon Lide 30 scanner and it works beautyfull with Linux! No problems so far.

Only thing I wonder about is, how I can use the buttons on the scanners front. There a 3 ugly little pushbuttons, that can be used under Windooze, but I have no clue how to do so under Linux. I read a tutorial, where "scanimage" used an option called "--wait-for-button" but I only gte an error on this option

So, can someone tell me, if and how I can make use of these buttons?

Thanks, Sascha

Hello, i have a Lide 20 and the same problem ( plus some others stupid things ).

From the file FAQ.gz in my debian /usr/share/doc/libsane/plustek, i read:
Quote:
Q: Is it possible to use the front-button of my Plustek 9630P ?

A: It is possible since version 0.37. After loading the driver,
use the proc filesystem to get the button value:
cat /proc/pt_drv/device0/button0
I have kernel 2.6.8 but i haven't such a file.

Have you fount something about this?

Also do you use calibration all the times?

Could you please post your /etc/sane.d/plustek.conf ?

Thank you.

I have a Canon LIDE 30, I am running Scientific Linux, and no, the buttons do not work. I chalk it up to Canon's refusal to support their equipment under Linux, and after the obligatory email to Canon asking them about Linux support ( and the obligatory "we don't support linux" reply), I go on my merry way. The scanner does work with kooka, so I just forget about the buttons and rely on the linux software.
