SATA Controller on a H8QMI-2 Motherboard
using a nVidia MCP55 Pro SATA2 controller. I was wondering if anyone has gotten the SATA controller to work? I am having some problems with mine and trying to get the controller and drives to work.
I am running Fedora 9 on it with the 2.6.27.7-53 kernel. When I plug drives into the SATA ports, they are found in the BIOS. If I enable the RAID option, I can create an array in the online utility. When I boot linux with either the RAID option enabled or disabled I get a lot of error message about the drives. Unfortunately I do not have the exact messages handy as I am now at work. The messages are something to the affect of trying to read and reset the drive. One thing interesting is that the messages are referring to the hpt37X driver/chipset. Isn't that the HighPoint module? I was under the impression that it should be using the sata_nv module.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK, a little more info now that I have been able to look at things again after Christmas.
Looks like the latest version of Fedora 9 install tries to use the HighPoint module rather than the sata_nv module. I have gotten Fedora up and installed on the system.
The drive is question is /dev/sdc.
In the dmesg out, there are numerous version of the following error:
