Sakar USB 82379

Has anybody had any luck getting this cheap little toy to run on Linux? If you have, let me know? I'm running OpenSuse 10.2

First thing is to search LQ for threads about your webcam and check the LQ HCL. If nothing turns up then try to find out more about the chipset from the documents that came with it, the vendors site and searching teh intarweb. (Even emailing the vendor asking for specs does work sometimes.) If nothing turns up then start by plugging in the device, use "lsusb" or "usbmodules" command to see if any modules got loaded and look at your syslog (most likely /var/log/messages) for messages about USB. If it returns any info like Vendor ID strings use that to search the Linux-USB device overview website. If unsure post messages here but please make sure you post *exact* ones.

The thing works fine as a digital camera (or at least, reading images from the thing), but I need to get it to function as a webcam.

Update: searched the HCL, and no go there.

lsusb returns:

Bus 001 Device 008: ID 2770:9120 NHJ, Ltd Che-ez! Snap / iClick Tiny VGA Digital Camera

How come people can't follow directives if there's more than two?
Some mental threshold? Attention span? Not interested?
FCOL look at http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/searc...pattern=0x9120
Thanks.
