retard can't figure out simple things

is there a way to adjust the resolution setting on linux, cause i can't find it....everything's way too big, it makes me mad.

This is asked daily so a simple search would have given many results on this site and even on most other sites.

First, what distro are you using ?? With redhat you can run Xconfigurator to configure your resolutions settings, Suse you can use YasT or SaX, Mandrake you can use I think Drakconf, and almost any other distro you can use xf86config to reconfigure your resolutions. Or you can always edit either your /etc/X11/XF86Config or /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 files to change the resolutions.

geeze, i didn't know i'd be gestapo-ed by a moderator, yeah i'll search next time but i have no patience, i just lost half a year of material from 'an error in the filesystem'

i'm thinking no...anyway...

apparantly i de-activated like half of my desktop, that's interesting....

i have red hat 7.3...you can laugh now.

You can also try Ctrl+alt then either "+" or "-". If that doesn't work you'll have to dig into your X86Config or some crap like that.

i've tried ctrl-alt and i've attempted to configure using the X86 config thing....to no avail.

Alright my friend, at the prompt type (case-sensitive here) Xconfigurator and go throught he setup options, keep most of the default settings but when you get to the area where you can configure the resolution availibe in 255, 16, and 32 bit put the lowest resolution you ever want to see as a selection (ie 1024x768) then try.
