Recommend a nvidia dual graphics card for desktop pc

Please can anyone recommend a reasonably decent Nvidia Dual Graphic card.

I do not do any gaming intensive or otherwise but I can be using the internet for up to 6 hours in one session.

I would like a dual fan cooled card, hmmm or is this going overboard.

My current card is Nvidia Quantro NVS 290 passive cooling (no fan) and despite the heatsink it still seems to get quite hot so I have installed a PCI exhaust fan.

Anyway im having a pc built and want to use the most linux compatible hardware including a reasonably up to date Nvidia dual graphic card that has an integral fan but needs to be at a budget price.

Also which mobo would be best and would a 500 watt PSU be overkill. Min. ram 6GB
HDD sata 300GB SDD 128GB PCU dual core 3+Ghz possibly slightly overclocked.
My Max BB width is 2mb on a good day. Is there a particular type of Ethernet card that will give a better performance or at least get the best out of the existing SKY/sagemcom modem. PC will run Linux distros only.

Anything else to consider please ?? hope these are sensible questions Thanks

If you dont play games or use cad/cam applications, why invest to expensive graphics card? You get same performance with cheap nvidia GT210 or 440 perhaps. Also vdpau works fine for hd video.

Both cards have dual output vga/dvi or hdmi.

Normally better graphics card only helps with games or opengl applications.

'Dual graphics'? I guess you mean 'card cpaable of running dual monitors'.

The Quadro NVS 290 should be able to run to at least 90C, its unlikely its got hot enough to need a fan (even if it feels very hot).

You shouldnt need a fan on the low end nVidia cards.

For a cheap one, get G210 or a similar newer 'low end' card (eg G510, GT520, G610 GT620). All wil suport dual monitors, newer cards like the GT620 can sometimes support 3 or more monitors.

AMD/Intel? Chip socket?

The networking chip (provided its got decent support with linux) shouldnt maqke much if any difference to your internet.
