REALLY strange ethernet problems.

Ok, this is so strange. I was working on my system trying to fix my etherenet. I am using Slackware 9. I was doing something else, like a game, and my card "magically" started working (indicated by the news ticker). I restarted my comp and then it wouldn't work. I think it is the ethernet because I couldn't ping my router. Any explanations?

Would seem like a hardware problem to me.

Have you tried maybe a:

ifconfig eth0 down
ifconfig eth0 up

And also what do you get when you type route?
Does it show you your default gateway, etc for your connection behind your router?
