Helo all,
I have got motherboard BLKD945GCLF with integrated ethernet RealTek 8110S
card and OS Fedora 8.
Where is a problem with ethernet after boot OS. Sometimes eth is O.K.,
sometimes is dead. There are driver "r8169".
I tryed driver from RealTek Ltd. and result is the same.
Do you know somebody some solution or link there is some advice?
Thank you very much.
Have a nice day.
Hi, yes, you are right that the r8169 module hasn't been up to speed. Things of this nature were happening with the 8168/8111 chips that use that module, too. Solution: Download chip-specific driver source from Realtek, compile the module, and then update your initrd ( I forget the Fedora command to do this. ) My ubuntu/debian instructions are at http://www.jamesonwilliams.com/hardy-r8168.html. They should be almost the same for you save perhaps the driver source and the debianisms.
