quiet headphone output, vector linux

i´m currently dual booting sabayon with vector linux and have some problems with vectors audio.
the headphone output is really quiet. i think i´ve done all the obvious stuff (fiddling about with controls, re configuring alsa) but to no avail. how can i increase the volume as i usualy have my laptop plugged into my stereo

Hi,

Post specifically what you have done.

Once you run 'alsamixer' after the 'alsaconf' you will need to do a 'alsactl store'. Make sure to setup within 'alsamixer' the device levels you need then do the 'alsactl store'.

You should look at the 'man alsaconf', 'man alsamixer' and 'man alsactl'.
