Question Quatum Ultrium LTO 4

Hello all,

I'm having some issues with some of my tape drives, primarily LTO 4's. I have a user here who is trying to transfer data using the "dd" command and every time she starts a job from her office, then moves to a different tape server and tries to start another the seconded job fails.

The errors I have see have been input output errors and it seems to be related to block size. From what I can tell every time she runs a job from the seconded tape server the internal block size changes on the tape drive and we have to manually set it back to 0.

Does anybody know why this would be happening?

Code:
dd if=/dev/st0 of=name_of_file bs=1024k
