PS1 controller partially recognized

Hi! I conntected my Playstation 1 controller to my pc with an usb adapter (I bought it on amazon). It works but it doesn't recognize three buttons: "Cross", "Square" and "Circle". I tested it with jstest-gtk and I also tried it with RetroArch and Dolphin emulator. I always get the same problem. I already tried with another controller and with another adapter, but I always have the same problem. Can someone help me? Is there some driver that I need to install in order to make it work?
I have Linux Mint 19.1 MATE, Kernel Linux 4.15.0-46-generic x86_64

Update: I noticed that I'm not alone: https://marc.info/?t=154750962200001

Try installing Sony PlayStation Controller to PC Adapter and also check your joystick controller settings
