Proliant 1600 freezes during boot

I have a proliant 1600 server running RHE3, I had problems installing the OS and finally got around the problems by running linux nousb nodma. The new problem I am having is that when it boots up I get and failed message when it starts the usb and then it hangs up when it gets to Checking for new hardware. Does anyone know how I can get around this problem?

Welcome to LQ. Can you post the exact error messages you're getting? It's a little unclear exactly what system messages are being generated, and the more detail you provide the better the chances that someone can lend a hand. Good luck with the project. -- J.W.
