Slack 10 on Proliant 1600, can't find CD-ROM
I have a problem installing Slackware 10 on a Proliant 1600 (dual PII-400, 256mb RAM, SCSI hard disk and IDE CD-ROM). It won't boot from the CD, so I tried with the scsi.s boot floppy instead. I got as far as partitioning the hard disks, but when it asks for the installation source, I select CD and then it tells me that no CD could be detected.
But...it must have detected the CD drive earlier, because it was identified correctly in the screen output when the boot disk was loading up. I've also tried passing a kernel parameter, hdc=cdrom, and some other boot disks, but all to no avail (smp.s failed in the same way, and adaptec.s didn't boot at all).
So, what next? I suppose that I'm missing some module, but how would I find out what that is? I do have Fedora running on a virtually identical machine, can I find out from there what modules are needed?
