Exclamation Problems adding 2nd SCSI card

Hi all.

I'm trying to add a 2nd scsi card to my Redhat 9 Dell server, I've put the new card in and the system bios detects it, but no SCSI bios screen comes up for it.

However when RH starts kudzu detects and configures the new hardware. The reason why I added a new one is because my original (on-board) scsi controller has no external interface - which I need for my jaz drive.

kudzu can't find my jaz drive (I've given it a SCSI ID of 4, just to clarify).

My hardware is as follows (details are taken from querying kudzu):

Existing SCSI controller: LSI/SYMBIOS sym53c1030 (driver - mptscsih)
New SCSI Controller: Adaptec AHA-7850 (driver - AIC7xxx)

So it all looks fine, only a) The card bios doesn't appear at boot time and b) kudzu can't see the jaz drive. Can anyone tell me if it is likely that I have a card or device issue?

Cheers,

~James~

Do you have the manual for your SCSI card. You can disable the BIOS boot screen. I'm thinking you need the driver boot disk to change this back.

Look at the out of dmesg. There should be messages for your SCSI adapter and Jaz drive. Also look at the ouput of
cat /proc/scsi/scsi
This should show all SCSI devices too.

Also see what SCSI modules are being loaded
/sbin/lsmod
