printer problem

I have a Epson Stylus Color 740 connected via USB.
I am unable get it to connect.
In System Settings -> Printing, I create a "New" printer, then in the drivers, i go to Epson -> Stylus Color 740, and the list of drivers is:
gimp-print (*)
gimp-print-ijs
omni
stc740ih.upp
stcolor

I've tried them all but a test page on any of them does not print (does _nothing_)

What can I do?
