Printer error and the repeats last 3 pages

In attempting to print multi-page documents of late- the printer will print 3 pages and then error- the error will clear by opening and closing the paper drawer-- where upon instead of completing the run the machine will repeat the first three pages.

I get over this by going to the page selector panel and printing the remaining pages as singles.

This is a recent occurrence, and have so far been unable to resolve it - any ideas?

What word processor or editor are you printing from and have you tested printing from another software package? from another computer?

If it happens from another computer, it is likely a printer problem. It would be useful to narrow this to the printer or to the computer/software package.

Thanx Frank
The problem occurs largely when printing Web or PDF pages now that you mention it.
Now that is something to work on.
In a little while I will be putting Windoze on this computer[ to duel with Linux] so will test that suggestion also.

Just a heads up as regards dual booting. Windows will overwrite your Linux bootloader and you will need to reinstall it.

There are many LQ threads that can be searched to help you prepare for this. The fix isn't difficult as far as I know (never had to do it myself) but forewarned is forearmed.

Thanks once more Frank
I am aware of the Windoze over write situation- I had a duel system previously on a 250 Gb drive
Since then i have rebuilt the machine this time with a 1Tb drive.

I have already backed the Ubuntu 'stuff' on an external drive to reload when done.

Cool.

I hope I didn't speak out of school. I come from the better safe than sorry school of tech support.
