PERC 6/i RAID Integrated - MegaCli


Hi Guys,

I have a server that uses the PERC 6/i Integrated RAID controller which i believe to be OEM LSI.

I am trying to understand the current configuration it has, all i can figure out so far is it has 2 virtual disks, i have no idea how many drives in each virtual disk nor what raid type (eg. RAID0, RAID1, etc).

Can someone please tell me some information i need such as:

what raid type is each virtual disk, what drives and how many are in each virtual disk please.

PD would indicate Physical Disks

PD
0:0
1:1
2:2
3:3
4:4
5:5

So 6 Physical Disks total

The first two Disks are Fujitsu

The next 4 Disks are Seagate


The first array contains 2 Physical Disks Number Of Drives:2

and appears to be RAID 1 RAID Level: Primary-1, Secondary-0, RAID Level Qualifier-0


the second array appears to be made up of two sets of spanned Disks most likely RAID 10 or 0+1 a mirrored stripe set. Probably being used for a Database or some similar high performance use.. RAID Level: Primary-1, Secondary-3, RAID Level Qualifier-0

I can't seem to find a list of the RAID levels the CLI output refers to..
Somewhere LSI has to have a list that goes something like..
0 = NO RAID
1 = RAID 1
3 = RAID ??

But I certainly can't find that information in anything I have looked at so far.. maybe it's in the docs you have located ?

Yeah, i am also unable to find ANY documentation which states anything in regards to the "RAID Level" which is one of the most important things i need.

Hopeless from Dell/LSI.

I would suggest emailing Dell or better yet LSI about the CLI tool. They have to have better documentation for it somewhere....
